The evolution of Evology

Evology has been growing steadily since we launched just over two years ago, but we thought it was time to reflect, let you peek behind the curtain a bit and explain how Evology came to be and what we’re trying to accomplish. We’ve got a lot of ambition, and we’re trying to create real, meaningful changes to how people travel. Whether people are commuting for work and need to pay for parking, someone’s pre-booking a stop on a road trip, or making life easier for people who need specific spaces, or charging an EV, we want to be there, helping where we can.

There’s nobody better to explain this than our Chief Product & Technology Officer, Adrian, who’s been the driving force behind Evology since it began.

How did Evology get started?

I’ve been fortunate to work on products that truly shape everyday life for consumers. One example was during my time at O2 WIFI, where I helped launch a major initiative offering free WIFI to people on the move, ultimately reaching 25 million users.

That experience reinforced something I’ve always believed in: building technology that gives back daily and genuinely helps people in their day-to-day lives.

How did you decide on the name?

The name Evology itself brings together several ideas. There’s EV (electric vehicles), evolution, and technology, while -ology means “a branch of knowledge.” For me, Evology represents a branch of knowledge that should be accessible to everyone. I want to empower consumers through smarter, everyday tech.

We were lucky that Evology began entirely in-house. I had the privilege of collaborating with some incredibly talented colleagues. We didn’t hire a branding agency. Our in-house marketing team created the brand, designed every screen and user journey, and successfully grew our first half a million users without a budget.

How does Evology transform everyday journeys?

When we set out to build Evology, we didn’t start with features – we started with people. We sat down as a team and talked through the day-to-day frustrations we all experience when we travel.

Parents juggling kids and car seats while battling confusing parking machines. Weekend walkers fed up with wasting an hour just trying to pay. Me, sitting in my EV with range anxiety, unable to find a charger when I need it most. These are real problems that make something as simple as a journey unnecessarily stressful.

It shouldn’t be this difficult.

So Evology has something for everyone?

We brought all of those pain points together and created something better – something human! In a world that’s screaming AI, it felt good to bring simple technology back. A single platform that simplifies travel instead of overcomplicating it. No more switching between apps. No more 20-minute waits to pay. No more guessing where to park or charge your car.

We removed the friction. We removed the middlemen. And we built a solution that works quietly in the background. We made every day journeys smoother, smarter, and more connected.

Evology is about giving people their time back. It’s about putting control and convenience back into the hands of the traveller. Whether you’re commuting, road-tripping, or just popping into town, we wanted to design something to make the experience effortless.

Where is Evology headed?

For us, it’s simple: keep finding the parking problems and fix them.

We spend time deep in reviews, listening to feedback, and spotting the small frustrations that add up to a broken experience. We know we won’t get everything right the first time, but we’re committed to listening, learning, and constantly improving. This will never just be about the technology for us. It’s a people-first strategy. And that means we’ll keep evolving until we create something that feels effortless for everyone.

One of the key areas we’re focused on this year is expanding our bay management technology, making designated parking experiences even better. Whether it’s a parent with a newborn, someone with accessibility needs, or anyone who simply deserves a smoother arrival, we want to make those moments easier.

Evology is about more than just parking. It’s about improving the everyday, one journey at a time.
